David DeFranco, PLS was honored with the award of Legal Professional of the Year.

Attorney Robin C. Gibbs, was honored with the award of Houston Association of Legal Professionals' Boss of the Year for 2006-2007. Attorney Gibbs is with the law firm of Gibbs & Bruns, L.L.P., and is Susan Bishop-Brown's boss.

The Houston ALP Scales of Justice Award recognizes the person who, during the fiscal year, improved access to justice, improved the quality of legal services, promoted the legal profession, and supported the Greater Houston community.

When merited, the Houston Association of Legal Professionals presents an award to recognize and express its gratitude to an individual who is not a member, but who has contributed more than would be expected normally from a volunteer. While not necessarily given every year, it was presented in February 2003.

The DIAMOND AWARD was presented to William E. Schweinle Jr., Frank R. Parish, and William G. Lowerre, who possess those timeless qualities and who have made significant contributions of time and effort, without compensation, to provide assistance to our association. These individuals have demonstrated exemplary commitment in supporting our association, not only this year, but for more than twenty years.
