2008 Basic Training Course for the Lawyer’s Assistant

WHAT: A
13-week course focusing on the knowledge that is expected of
a lawyer’s assistant and covering grammar, written communications,
office procedures, legal knowledge, ethics, human relations,
and judgment, culminating with administration of the NALS ALS
certification exam. This course is an excellent tool in preparing
for the ALS exam . . . the basic certification for the lawyer’s
assistant, which is directed to anyone who has completed this
legal training course or an accredited office curriculum course
or has at least one year of general office experience at the
time of taking the ALS exam. |

WHEN: Classes
will be held on Saturdays from July 26, 2008 through November
8, 2008, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The NALS ALS certification exam will
be administered on Saturday, December 6, 2008. |

COMPLETION:
A certificate of completion will be awarded to all who attend
at least 80 percent of the scheduled classes and obtain a passing
grade of 70 percent or better on the final exam for this course,
or a certificate of attendance will be awarded for class attendance. |

| COST:
$410 for nonmembers (although membership is not required, an optional
one-year membership is offered with a nonmember registration);
$270 for members. All refund requests must be in writing, and
no refunds will be granted after July 25, 2008. Books for this
class are included in the fees. |
